Unabashedly, I love the internet and the potential that it represents to share information and to create revenue streams for business. I’ve spent a lot of time researching what makes websites successful, what converts users, how algorithms could employ technology to find the best user experience, and what that means to businesses and consumers online. And now I’m here to find ways to put that knowledge to use and to benefit others.
My family claims a few small businesses and I was raised with some incredible examples of personal and business ethics, creativity, entrepreneurship, and finding ways to help other people. For me, this isn’t just a job – it’s personal. There are far too many unethical SEO companies scamming businesses and putting individuals in difficult situations. This is my campaign to help remedy some of those negative situations and to try and bring value to more businesses and more people.
As far as web/work stuff, you can find me
Organizing the Raleigh SEO Meetup (stop by if you’re in the area!)
Doing my best to help solve issues and answer questions at the Google Webmaster Forums
Reconnecting with colleagues at LinkedIn
Outside of SEO and all things web-related, I have a handful of other hobbies that keep me busy
Snapping photos of plants & bugs and trying to identify them on my other blog
Being a first time homeowner, I’m always getting crafty with home projects
Keeping my nose in books (mostly science & other non-fiction)
Spending time in my yard feigning horticulture know-how
Staying active via ping pong, walking, biking, tennis, climbing, boot-camp, and general goofing off.
And as always, I’m accompanied by two hideous cats and an unbelievably awesome husband who keeps me laughing, on my toes, and consistently excited about what this world has to offer. It’s a good life.
